Let's now consider again the features of the beast and see if the Holy Scriptures has anything to say somewhere else which can help us trace it very well.

"And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion:.......” REV .13:2

This is also another verse worthy of note since the description of the beast is based on many components. In short it is a composite beast whose identity could be traced from the book of Daniel by the help of our search. In the book of Daniel there are some four beasts identical with all the features of the beast in question here. The Great God when revealing to the prophet Daniel, the chronology of kingdoms that would last from his (Daniel's) time till the end of this world, showed the following to Daniel and he also wrote the important points thus:

(2) "Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.(3) And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. (4) The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it. (5) And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. (6) After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. (7) After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beast that were before it; and it had ten horns. (8) I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. (DAN.7:2-8)

Wonderful! Just look at how most of the descriptive features in the visions above have some common features like that of the revelation to John. This is why at times it could easily be asserted that the Old Testament contains the New Testament and the New Testament explains the Old Testament..

Though that is not all about this vision to Daniel, let's pause here and analyze some critical points to know how best we can link this vision and the revelation together.

Considering the four beasts, it could be seen that the first three had common names like Lion, Bear and Leopard, unlike the fourth which had no name at all. Yet a serious link or comparison could still be made here for more clarifications in this regard as far as our search for the truth is concerned. For instance the beast of Revelation 13 has some of the features of the fourth beast in Daniel's vision being the ten horns, as well as all the main features of the first three beasts namely lion, bear and leopard. So who should tell you that our God Who reveals secrets to those who fear His Mighty name (PSALM 25:14,15) truly unfolded all the mysteries concerning Satan's plot against humanity to His dear children. However, the comparison made above clearly shows that this composite beast has something to do with the one with no particular name in Daniel's vision: Hence the description above "DREADFUL AND TERRIBLE,....... : AND IT WAS DIVERSE FROM ALL THE BEASTS THAT WERE BEFORE IT.”.(DAN.7:7;REV.13:1,2) So here the New Testament's book of Revelation is throwing more light on the Old Testament book of Daniel with such vivid description about the dreadful nature of that beast, by explaining that it was like lion, bear and leopard at the same time. Here also the composite nature of the 666 beast shows the kind of legacy that beast inherited from his predecessors in the vision to Daniel. Although in the book of Daniel such description in the book of Revelation was not visibly made, it could be clearly seen that the fourth kingdom represented by the fourth beast in Daniel's vision (DAN.7:23), is that same kingdom which shall rule the world in this end time according to Revelation, despite the fact that the other one in Daniel's vision did not have the number 666.
