THE VICTORIOUS ADVANTAGE OF CHRISTIANS OVER THE ENEMY

The King of kings, knowing much about Satan’s tricks as already explained earlier in this study, first of all exemplified Himself as triumphant over the devil. (JN.12:31;14:30). Later on He declared through His disciple John that we Christians, are also over-comers against this same enemy provided we have His Holy Spirit.

"Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” 1JN.4:4

Notwithstanding the proclamation of victory over the arch-enemy of mankind, Christ through the apostles has also outlined so many ways in the scriptures to enable us conquer the devil entirely. Many examples concerning how the early people fell to Satan’s prey were also made available. That is why it is stated in ROM.15:4 that, "Whatsoever things were written aforetime, were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope”.

In fact these examples and warnings have gone a long way to enlighten all those who seek to know the truth in this end time. Else many salvation seekers would stumble and fall by committing the same mistakes (HEB.4:11) that endangered the people of old. Hence the statement in Isaiah’s book saying:

"Except the Lord of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.” ISAI.1:9

You see, it is by the grace of God that such examples were listed in the Bible for those of us of this end times. So let us therefore search through the scriptures to avail ourselves with all the necessary information capable of redeeming us from Satan’s craftiness leading to death.

"Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.” 1COR.10:11

It is also reported in 1COR.10:12 that, if we do not take care we will fall. Like I said earlier, we would all have cleft to these false prophets, given ourselves to lawlessness and even done more iniquity, if there had not been the availability of such ensamples and warnings.

The Good news is that, the Lord has made available to His true ministers, the power for deliverance from sicknesses, calamities, witchcraft and any other satanic captivity. This truly is one of the best opportunities Christians have. This is because the world has become a battle field where Satan and his agents are always opposing the true believers to make them lose their salvation opportunities. Even though Satan and his agents always try to do something against God’s people, the power of God which surpasses every power brings their attempts to fiasco. They are always exposed and defeated in all battles. Satan's goal is to destroy God's people and kingdom by whatever means.

Even after Christ’s resurrection from the dead the early apostles were used by God to defeat all Satan’s attack against God’s people. Many dead were raised back to life; sight was given back to those blind ones who believed in Christ’s power, others got healed from epilepsy and other serious problems. Beside these, Our Lord God working through the apostles exposed those with evil spirits yet pretended to be Christ’s, to deceive masses. At a certain point in time Saint Paul, filled with the Spirit of Christ, rebuked an evil possessed lady who through pretence had been deceiving masses.

(16) "And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: (17) The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. (18) And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.” ACTS 16:16-18.

Also because of what happened to the glory of God, Paul and Silas were arrested and put behind bars. But their arrest also led to the repentance of the keeper of the prison and his household. All this happened due to Paul and Silas’ unceasing prayer and praises unto the Most High God. ACTS 16;25-34
It is to this end that Paul wrote concerning the adversaries against God’s ministry thus:

"For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.” 1COR.16:9

We are thankful to God that He has released power to His ministers to battle against Satan’s weapon of mass destruction. (LK.10:19) Yes, Christ says we should cast out demons and bind all principalities and dark powers ( MATT.10:1), with His Holy Spirit given us (ZECH.4:6): And this is the greatest advantage true Christians have over their enemies, otherwise many souls will perish because of witchcrafts and other demonic practices.

The quotation above concerning opposing forces is no joke at all, when one considers the way sin is on the increase in these last days, despite the existence of numerous churches all over the world. This reminds me of what Jesus said concerning the retrospection of Noah and Lot’s times. As a matter of fact, everything going on now, for example, the spate of armed robbery, bad dressing, drunkenness, drug menace, juju money, illicit sex (including homosexuality and lesbianism), are all indications that Christ was right in His assertion that Noah and Lot’s days shall have retrospective effect before the end comes.

Remember that I have already spoken about such iniquities outlined above, which abounded in the days of Noah before the deluge when many souls perished in the flood. Likewise, Lot was vexed with the filthiness of those lawless people before the Lord took him and his two daughters out of Sodom and Gomorrah and again rained fire to burn the then sinners. (2PET.2:4-8) No wonder, many lives are now being controlled by Satan, since history has to repeat itself in this end time according to Christ’s prediction. (MATT.24:3,37)

(26) "And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the son of man…………..” (28)Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;……………….. (30) Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.” LK.17:26,28,30.
