In the house of God, there are both men and women and these two genders sometimes have some separate doctrinal principles that govern them, apart from some laws that are common for both. In this regard, the women in the Church of God Most High are also expected to live by every word of God that will guide them to success and also inherit everlasting life. By this, below are some standard principles that should be obeyed by the female genders even from childhood until adulthood as far as dressing is concerned.
                                        DRESSING CODE

Every woman in the Church of God Most High is expected to dress like the DAUGHTER OF ZION. In simple term all our female counterparts must dress modestly. First of all their attire should not be fitted ones, neither should their dress expose their breast, thighs, pubic or any of their sensitive parts, that attract men. This means that they have to dress with shamefacedness and sobriety, like our mother Sarah and the other holy women of old.1PET.3:3-6 .

(9) "In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; (10) But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.” 1TIM.2:9,10

It is reported in ZEPH.1:8 that God will in the last days in His judgment punish all those who put on gentile (worldly) dressing. For that much no woman should wear trousers and any thing that pertains or belongs to men. DEUT.22:5. Since those who do the contrary are abominable unto God, no abominable person will be entertained in the Kingdom of God (REV.21:8,27). Because God said in DEUT.7:26 that no abomination should be taken to the house. Also according to PROV.7:10, there are certain garments that belong to prostitutes or whores. So this type of garment must be avoided. They should do the will of God as far as dressing is also important concerning our salvation. (MATT.7:21)

Ornaments are not permissible among the children of God. Please read EX.33:1-6 to know that the true daughters of God are not to adorn themselves with ornaments. That is why God asked Moses to tell the children of Israel to remove all ORNAMENTS from among themselves to enable Him move with them. Talking about ear-rings, what the contemporaries of Jacob did before going to Bethel, is truly indicative of the fact that Ear-rings per se stem from idolatry.

(1)"And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Beth’-el, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother, (2) Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments: (3) And let us Arise, and go up to Beth’-el; and I will make there an altar unto God who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went. (4) And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under he oak which was by She’chem.” GEN.35:1-4

Critically examine GEN.35:1-4 above and ask yourself this question as to why they gave Jacob, their EARRINGS, when he requested them to do away with all strange gods among them. This means the people really knew that there was some gods’ power attached to the wearing of ear-rings in the olden days. So now that we know the origin of the usage of earrings to be something associated with idolatry, why should God allow His dear daughters of Zion to put on that which belongs to His enemies (gods).

It is to this end that God warns that all those who use such ornaments shall be plagued with incurable sores in their heads. ISAI.3:16-21. Sometimes some women use earrings and other ornaments for beautification. Especially, in the case of earrings, some have the notion that its usage, differentiate them from their male counterparts. In actual fact if all women should abide by God’s and put on their own dress, why can’t they be easily identified as women? You see Sarah did not use ornaments, yet she was so beautiful that Abraham, sometimes even feared to call her his wife just to save himself from dying at the hands of those who might probably woo Sarah. Hence, Apostles Peter and Paul exhorting our women to do away with ornaments in order to please God as most beautiful women.1PET.3:1-6; 1TIM.2:9-10.

Quite apart from this above point, it could be seen also from the book of revelation, the difference between the dressing of the daughter of Babel (Babylon) and that of the daughter of Zion.

(3) "So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. (4) And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: (5)And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” REV.17:3-5

(1)"And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: (2) And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.” REV.12:1,2

It is clear from the two texts above that the one decked with ornaments is called Babylon The Great, and even with more atrocious characteristics, giving the implication that she is of the evil one. But the humble one concerning, whom this revelation was given, has something to do with the mother of the child Jesus, yet she was simply and modestly dressed without any ornament. Therefore, this also gives the impression that God’s daughters are not to use ornaments.
Well, one may ask that why is it that the Lord commanded that a hole is pierced on a servant’s ear, if earrings are not to be used? (EX.21:1-6). In actual fact the Lord did not say a ring should be fixed in that hole on the ear. Also, that commandment did not even concern women alone, but, men as well. So if one desires to bore a hole on the ear in order to use earring, one then becomes the servant of Satan. This is because it is categorically stated in JN.8:34 that whoever sins is the servant of sin, and that as far as Satan is the originator of sin (1JN.3:8) one thus become the servant of Satan. So stop transgressing with ear-rings.

Another dress code for women, which is of prior importance, is the covering of their hairs. When one considers the twelve crown stars of the woman of REV.12:1,2, it is obvious that the daughters of God must always cover or veil their hairs. Even the very text that teaches us the way our heads must be treated makes it plain that women ought to cover their heads wherever they are because of their guarding angels. That is why it is important that all female infants are also subject to this law of head covering. This is because all infants, both male and female also have their own guardian angels in heaven just like the elderly people. (MATT.18:10)

(5) "But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head; for that is even all one as if she were shaven. (6) For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. (7) For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. ………….(10) For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels. ………(13 ) Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered? (14) Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is shame unto him? (15) But if a woman have long hair, it is glory to her: for her hair is given for a covering. (16) But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.” 1COR.11:5-7,10,13-16

Have you seen? That the conclusion states that no Church of God allows her women to walk with uncovered head. At times some people argue that it is the HAIR that should act as veil or covering for the woman basing their stance on verse 15. Please it is not so. If it is so, why did the 6th verse say if the woman does not want to cover the hair, that same hair must be shaven? And if she feels shy to walk every day with a shaven head, LET her veil or cover her head. The word ‘Let’ in this context is impliedly a command.

Do not think this is a new custom to Christian women: Please read NUMB.5;1-26 and you will notice something in verse 18 which depicts the custom of head covering for women since time immemorial. Well let us consider it here:

"And the priest shall set the woman before the Lord, and UNCOVER THE WOMAN’S HEAD, and put the offering of memorial in her hands………….” NUMB. 5:18

However it is evident in the above text that women always covered their heads even in the Old Testament, and that is why the commandment there gives the priest the power to uncover the accused woman’s head, or remove her veil, when proving her innocence.

As we are still dealing with the woman’s head (hair), it should be acknowledged that the All-wise God, does not want His daughters to worry themselves with these kind of artificial hair styles. That is why the custom of head covering, must be strictly adhered to. If a woman should abide by this simple instruction of head covering, what would be the need of costly hair styles like perming, jelly curls, tiring with hot or heated iron, rasta hair-do, weave-on and others? It is just waste of time and resources since women are not supposed to expose their hairs.

Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy and charged him to see to it that the women do not go the way of the worldly women in terms of dressing.

"In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with BROIDED HAIR, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;” 1TIM.2:9

Apostle Peter also has this say as far as women dressing is concerned for the Christians:

"Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of PLAITING THE HAIR, wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel.” 1PET.3:3

If you want to become a daughter of Jezebel who was used to hair tiring, face painting and the likes, then you can ignore the commandments of God and do as such.

"And Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.” 2KINGS 9:30

It is of paramount importance that the women of God learn to avoid all kinds of worldly things such as face painting, eye shadow, lipstick etc. that come under the umbrella of Make-ups. Also they should be devoid of bleaching or toning the colour of the body, since we are told to be content with whatever we have. In fact all these habits with women are mainly geared toward attracting men’s attention for fornication. Just consider what Jezebel had in mind before dressing herself that way. She only wanted to attract Jehu so that his God-sent mission to that town will be denied. But the Lord made him prevail against her wishes. In fact, many people do not know that this kind of dressing is a death trap to them that do so, according to the Prophet Jeremiah.

(30) "And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life. (31) For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now! For my soul is wearied because of murderers.” JER.4:30,31

This same Prophet condemns bleaching. But here, he put it in the form of a question thus:

"Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots?............... JER.13:23

The theme of this question above is that no one can change his or her skin, thus it was likened unto animals’ nature. For instance no one has ever succeeded in changing the skin permanently. This is because the moment one stops applying that particular substance on the body the old skin or colour begins to resurface. But at the moment, the age of artificiality has blinded people to such an extent that nobody thinks about this all important quotation concerning God’s disapproval of bleaching, and thereby, continuing to do whatever is pleasing unto themselves. We ought to know that no one can challenge God the Creator in the way He wanted His creatures to be.

(19) "Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? (20) Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? (21) Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonor?” ROM. 9:19-21

Even though this very text above, is an allegory concerning how God gives repentance to different people the way He likes, it contains much information about the Supremacy of God the Creator, and man’s inability to challenge the Creator or dictate to Him.
Yet people through fashion or the way they dress, challenge their Creator ignorantly. It is to this end that the Prophet Isaiah also declares our woes as far as these habits are concerned.

(13) "Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: (14) Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid. (15) Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? And who knoweth us? (16) Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? Or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?” ISAI.29:13-16

If it is so according to the prophet Isaiah, it means our current socio-economic woes are due to such disobedience amidst the lust of the flesh which amounts to the love for the world.(1JN.2:15-17).

There are certain things in this world today which raise more questions than answers. One can not understand the reason why women of today spend money and time on something that has been abundantly provided by The Creator of the Universe, and is immediately replaced at any time there is shortage. Some of these things being spoken of are Artificial Nails, Eyebrows, Eyelids, Eyelashes, etc. In this modern time, many salons are fully occupied with the treatment of such problems. Why should people do this to blaspheme God Who, in His wisdom at creation, made these things sensitively that, He only, has the uttermost power and responsibility to replace all lost hairs and pubic. If those doing so do not know that it is sin against God, they should read again ISAI. 29:13-16 quoted above.
Even some go to the extent of shaving off the natural ones like eyebrows and using ink or colour pencils to draw lines as replacement. It is rather unfortunate that most people don’t even know that it is scientifically dangerous to shave off the eye-brow. Even those who know it intentionally overlook this important fact and do this dangerous habit just for the sake of fashion. Remember that the Prophet Jeremiah says women are doomed because of these habits. (JER.4:30,31)

What about those who increase their buttocks and some other sensitive parts of theirs through medication? They are also doomed. This is why the daughters of Zion are advised to desist from such worldly habits. You see THIS AGE OF ARTIFICIALITY is killing many Christians today. So listen to your Creator's voice and be SIMPLE for Christ.
