Again, don't lose sight of the fact-that the Roman Empire which is the present day Europe is still in existence as a world power, but not in its full glory. Very soon, she shall assume her power and rule the world with Mr. 666, the antichrist or the son of perdition and lead masses into destruction.

You see the main reason why the book of Daniel was silent over the number of heads the fourth beast had but mentioned the ten horns, is due to the fact that Daniel's visions about the four beasts had two separate occurrences for only the fourth beast. Read Daniel chapter 7 and avail yourself with the hint that apart from the fourth beast all the first three which preceded the fourth should lose their power to another till the power gets to the fourth beast. But the fourth beast would reign till the end comes (DAN.7:11-14). It is because of this that more emphasis was laid on the fourth beast (DAN.7:19).

Though John's writings about the beast took place during the reign of the Roman Empire, the Lord revealed to him what had even happened long time right from the beginning of the Roman Empire. Thus detailed information was given in the book of Revelation which included the Seven heads and the number 666 in order to make the whole prophecy about the Roman Empire very complete. For instance verse 3 reveals that one of his heads was wounded and later healed. This shows the fourth empire was some time very strong and was later on weakened: But would by all means assume its power and rule again before its total extermination by God's dreadful judgment. 2 THESS.2:8

"The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit. And go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the BEAST THAT WAS, AND IS NOT, AND YET IS".......... "And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into PERDITION. REV.17:8,11
